You may have used AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude to organize information, draft an article or polish your writing. But when you ask AI to help write a diary entry, does the fluent result capture how you actually felt? Sometimes it may even include details you never provided.
Start by describing your experiences, feelings and writing preferences. Deep Soul has prepared three adaptable AI diary prompts and an editing example to try in ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude, helping you move from everyday moments to your own life stories.
You do not need a finished draft. Describe what happened, how you felt and the details you want to keep. Then specify your language, tone and length. OpenAI's prompting guidance recommends clear instructions, useful context and refining your request after reviewing the result.

Choose ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude, paste one of the prompts below into a conversation and replace the bracketed placeholders with your notes. Share only content you are comfortable having the service process. You can replace other people's names, phone numbers or sensitive details with placeholders first.
These adaptable text prompts have not been individually tested across all three tools, and results are not guaranteed to match. Start with a short note, review the response, then add context or adjust your instructions.
Prompt to copy:
Help me turn the following notes into a diary entry of about 120 words in English. Write in the first person with a natural tone, preserving my wording and feelings. Use only the information I provide. Do not add events, dialogue or emotions I have not mentioned. If you need more information, ask up to two simple questions first.
What happened today: [fill in]
How I felt: [fill in]
Details I want to keep: [fill in]
Use this for everyday moments, small joys or a short entry after a busy day.
Prompt to copy:
Help me organize the following experience into a first-person story of about 250 words in English, with three sections: “The background”, “What happened” and “How I feel looking back”. Keep my meaning. Do not invent dates, dialogue, motives or an ending. Turn uncertain details into questions for me to answer.
Approximate time or stage of life: [fill in]
Events and people involved: [fill in; aliases are fine]
How I felt then and how I feel now: [fill in]
Try this for a first job, a move, starting a family or an experience that changed your perspective. Leave forgotten details open instead of asking AI to fill them in.
Prompt to copy:
Here are a few life entries I have selected. Organize them using the times I provide; do not guess the order of undated entries. Identify recurring people, events or concerns and cite the entry supporting each observation. End with three open-ended questions for my own reflection. Do not judge my personality, make psychological diagnoses or assign meanings I have not expressed.
Entry one: [fill in]
Entry two: [fill in]
Entry three: [fill in]
Start with three entries. Patterns suggested by AI are one perspective, which you can reject or revise in your own words.
This is a fictional editorial example, not a real user's entry or tested output from ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude. Actual generated responses will vary.
Original notes:Walked in the park with Dad today. Hadn't had a proper chat in ages. He talked about when I learned to ride a bike. Felt warm.
Editing example:Today I took a walk in the park with Dad. It was a chance to slow down and talk. He recalled when I learned to ride a bike as a child, and I felt a sense of warmth. I want to remember this ordinary yet precious time together.
The emotional value of a diary can come from remembering a moment of care or finding your own words for feelings that are hard to express. In the example of walking with Dad, the warmth and connection matter alongside what happened.
When using AI to organize a diary entry, add what the experience means to you so the response can draw on the feelings you provide. If the wording does not reflect how you actually felt, edit it yourself. Keeping your own voice matters more than making the story sound polished.

A prompt expresses constraints but cannot guarantee that AI follows them perfectly. Keep your original notes and check the edited version before saving it.
You can use these AI tools to practise shaping your writing. If you are looking for a diary app to make digital journaling part of an ongoing life record, you can also explore Deep Soul. Life Moments supports text, photos, voice and feelings; Life Trajectories helps organize experiences from different stages of life, with sharing permissions for your entries.
Deep Soul also has its own AI writing assistant to help organize titles and content for you to review before applying. A diary is the starting point for an emotional life archive you can search, revisit, organize, and understand.
